MIX-TUR aims to link all the value of the real and virtual information in order to provide value-added services based on the concept of Mixed Reality, and that also enable to offer new experiences in tourism sector. The future trend in events and conferences is the creation of hybrid events, with virtual and physical elements that complement each other, making possible that the distance is not a problem to visit an event and transparently doing the same activities either in person or in a virtual way.
Therefore, this project focuses on the creation of a virtual platform that communicates with the events and the mobile applications that increase the user interaction within the live events, using techniques such as computer vision and route planning in indoors systems or presenting information using Augmented Reality.
This project is still in the development phase, but currently we have completed several features. For instance, we could highlight the route planning, knowing the user's location obtained using augmented reality techniques.
We use the logos that all stands have in an event to detect the position where the person is located and then calculate the fastest route to a specific point, which has been selected manually by de user. All this development is focused on mobile devices and all the users can interact with the live event, getting information from the stands using the mobile device cameras.
